Indeed, the intimate relation is so important in the marital life that there are many rules concerning it in the Shari`ah. The relevant main rule is that each spouse has the right for sexual satisfaction from  his/her partner as long as they do not violate the Islamic norms.

In his response to your question, Sheikh Ahmad Kutty, a senior lecturer and an Islamic scholar at the Islamic Institute of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, states,

Husband and wife are allowed to find mutual satisfaction as long as they shun methods that are considered as taboos such as anal sex, sexual perversions, and intercourse during menses, etc.

However, the use of sex toys is another issue; to the best of my knowledge, it is a perversion as it is akin to interfering with the natural way Allah has enjoined for us.

If we sanction this method, there is no way to tell where it would end. Soon they will develop dolls to replace men and women. The scenario is indeed too alarming even to imagine.

Already some social scientists are warning about it. They say, in the course of time, marriage will become out of fashion as people will seek satisfaction through robots (looking like men and women) that can be readily accessed for sexual services.

May Allah save us from witnessing such a state of moral degradation.
