Selected Hadiths

Inspired by Prophet Muhammad

  1. Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: “Nothing is weightier on the Scale of Deeds than one’s good manners.” (Al-Bukhari)
  2.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: “The most beloved of Allah’s servants to Allah are those with the best manners.” (At-Tabarani)
  3.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "The perfect Muslim is not a perfect Muslim, who eats till he is full and leaves his neighbors hungry." (Al-Baihaqi)
  4.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "Do you know what is better than charity and fasting and prayer? It is keeping peace and good relations between people, as quarrels and bad feelings destroy mankind." (Al-Bukhari & Muslim)
  5. Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "Whoever curbs his anger, while being able to act, Allah will fill his heart with certainty of faith." (Hadith in Al-Bukhari)
  6.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: “If one has good manners, one may attain the same level of merit as those who spend their nights in prayer.” (Al-Bukhari)
  7.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "A Muslim who plants a tree or sows a field, from which man, birds and animals can eat, is committing an act of charity." (Muslim)
  8.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "There is a polish for everything that takes away rust; and the polish for the heart is the remembrance of Allah." (Al-Bukhari)
  9.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "Whoever is kind, Allah will be kind to him; therefore be kind to man on the earth and He Who is in heaven will show mercy on you."(Abu Dawud & Tirmidhi)
  10.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "Keep yourselves far from envy; because it eats up and takes away good actions, like a fire eats up and burns wood." (Abu Dawud)
  11.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "You will not enter paradise until you have faith; and you will not complete your faith till you love one another." (Muslim)
  12.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: “He who does not show mercy to our young or show esteem for our elders is not one of us.” (Al-Bukhari)
  13.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: “Richness does not lie in the abundance of (worldly) goods, but richness is the richness of the soul (heart, self).” (Muslim)
  14.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "A believer is not a fault-finder and is not abusive, obscene, or course." (Al-Bukhari)
  15.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "Be careful of suspicion, for it is the most mistaken of all speech. Do not spy on others, don’t compete among yourselves, don’t envy one another, or despise one another. Rather, be servants of Allah and brothers!" (Al-Bukhari)
  16.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "Give gifts to one another, and you will love one another." (Abu Dawud)
  17.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "Anyone who spends money on his family and seeks blessings for doing so will find it counted charity on his behalf." (Al-Bukhari)
  18.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: “Whoever would be pleased to have their sustenance and lifespan increased, let them maintain their ties of kinship”. (Al-Bukhari)
  19.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: “Charity does not in any way decrease the wealth, and the servant who forgives Allah adds to his respect, and the one who shows humility Allah elevates him in the estimation (of the people).” (Muslim)
  20.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "Save yourself from Hell-fire even by giving half a date-fruit in charity.” (Al-Bukhari)
  21.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "A man saw a dog eating mud from (the severity of) thirst. So, that man took a shoe (and filled it) with water and kept on pouring the water for the dog till it quenched its thirst. So Allah approved of his deed and made him to enter paradise." (Al-Bukhari)
  22.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "I and the one who looks after an orphan will be like this in paradise," showing his middle and index fingers and separating them. (Al-Bukhari)
  23.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately and know that your deeds will not make you enter paradise, and that the most beloved deed to Allah's is the most regular and constant even though it were little." (Al-Bukhari)
  24.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "Any man whom Allah has given the authority of ruling some people and he does not look after them in an honest manner will never feel even the smell of Paradise." (Al-Bukhari)
  25.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "Allah said, "I have prepared for My righteous slaves (such excellent things) as no eye has ever seen, nor an ear has ever heard nor a human heart can ever think of.'" (Al-Bukhari)
  26.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "Feed the hungry, visit the sick, and set free the captives."  (Al-Bukhari)
  27.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "Anybody who believes in Allah and the Last Day should not harm his neighbor, and anybody who believes in Allah and the Last Day should entertain his guest generously and anybody who believes in Allah and the Last Day should talk what is good or keep quiet (i.e. abstain from all kinds of evil talk).” (Al-Bukhari)
  28.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one. People asked, "O Allah's Apostle! It is all right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?" The Prophet said, "By preventing him from oppressing others."  (Al-Bukhari)
  29.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: Whoever among you wakes up in the morning healthy in his body, secure in his house (or his family), and has his day’s food, it is as though the world has been brought into his possession. (Hadith in At-Tirmidhi)
  30.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "There are four qualities which, if they are found in you, then nothing will harm you in the world: Fulfilling the trust, truthful speech, good character, and restraint with food." (Hadith in Musnad Ahmad)

 

Hadith of the Day
