Dr. Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS), congratulated the Egyptian youth, the makers of the January 25th Revolution, within his comment on the departure of former President Husni Mubarak from the political scene in Egypt. He said that this revolution represents a landmark for people through which to learn altruism and benevolence towards the other, noting that falsehood was never to prevail or triumph over the right. He also affirmed that the tyrant could not subdue the people, reminding that he swore by Allah during the Friday sermon that the people would prevail and sure enough they made it on that very day.
Al-Qaradawi also said that a state established on falsehood is short-lived, knowing that it is always non-durable, while a state built on the right lasts until the end of the world. He thus offered his congratulations to the Egyptian youth, to Egypt, to all Arab and Islamic countries and to the free people all over the world. He also congratulated Al-Jazeera Channel on the great role it played in unfolding truths and exposing falsities.
Al-Qaradawi also stated that the Egyptian TV announced the Egyptian President's resignation, calling him the ousted but without referring to him as the former President, and that such TV used to fabricate lies, belittling the numbers of protesters, referring to the millions as a few thousands.
The President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars also asserted that this revolution is not only a revolution of the youth, but it is rather a revolution of the Egyptian people, in its entirety and in all its categories, including Muslims and Christians, the poor and the rich, who all said "No" to the tyrant. Besides, he wondered how could it be that Almighty Allah let down the people of Egypt and grant victory to the tyrant, indicating the survival is always for the fittest and the right alone prevails, "And say: (Truth has come and falsehood has vanished. Surely! Falsehood is ever bound to vanish) (Al-Israa' 17:81), and, "As for the foam it passes away as scum upon the banks, while that which is for the good of mankind remains in the earth) (Al-Ra`d 13:18). Similarly, he indicated that celebrations taking place all over the Arab countries are reflected in Doha, where thousands residing there expressed joy over the occasion.
Al-Qaradawi also stated that we should thank Almighty Allah (Exalted be He) for what He has bestowed upon us of favors, and that we should keep thanking Him and derive conspicuous lessons, calling for cooperation among all categories and reminding of the message sent by the army, which affirmed that the people supported the army in its 1952 Revolution, and that the army in turn should return the favor to the people by supporting them in their revolution. He also indicated that this Egyptian army can never be less patriot than the Tunisian army. He further stated that we are expecting the army to carry out numerous amendments, including abolishing the emergency law, releasing all detainees, initiating prospective procedures that would result in creating a new Egypt; the country that witnessed Pharaonic civilization as well as other civilizations, noting that the sun of civilization in Egypt never set even for one day, and so Egyptian people are worthy of having its light again on them.
