In Islam, parents-children relationship is very significant and unique. Both parents and children have mutual rights and obligations.
Islam recognizes the inherent bonds of love that exist between parents and their children. However, there are certain guidelines which have been put forth in the Qur’an and in the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) which explicitly describe the rights and obligations of both parents and children.
In Part One of this Series, children's rights on their parents are explored. Parents bear specific obligations towards their children, even before their birth. It is important for parents, and even for children, to realize their duties and rights in order to lead a happy successful life.
